When,
I first started out doing music, it was in a country band as a drummer and
backup singer. After a few directional happenings, I found myself
in the front of the band as the lead singer. We became known as "William
Maurice and The Townlines."
During
the early years of my career, I had done a few Elvis songs, but it wasn't
until I was nearing the completion of my studies, that I was given
the blessings of being able to do a full show on Elvis, called "Forever
Elvis" . Well,
needless to say, this was the beginning of a new and exciting walk in
music.
Over
the years I have had the privilege of performing with many of Elvis'
people, such as D.J.
Fontana, J.D. Sumner and the Stamps, Kathy Westmoreland, The
Jordanaires, Charlie Hodge, The Sweet Inspirations,
and many more Great and Wonderful entertainers...
I
have come to the realization that Elvis was a Christian man and have met
many a person who had advised or guided Elvis to the Lord, including a
wonderful woman named Mary
Ann Thornton,
I am
not preaching nor do I want to come across as a Holier than Thou person, I
am stating that Elvis did have a personal relationship with God at the
time of his death. I must take this time to thank Elvis for allowing me
the privilege to honor his name and to become part of an ever growing
array of Tribute Artists from around the world who keep his memory alive
for all the millions and millions of fans.
Doing
the Tribute Shows for all these years has brought me to the 4 corners of
the world and if it wasn't for the Blessings of God and the name of Elvis,
I probably would have never even stepped foot outside my own country
"Canada."
To all
the fans and to all those who personally knew Elvis, I hope that you
enjoyed this website and in total respect to all of you, I can only
say...Thank You and God Bless!!!
In His
Spirit Lives............. William
Maurice
